All the firetrucks came, a bunch of old, old classic cars (Model Ts),
boy scouts, girl scouts, and a crowd of kids like these:
The kids can decorate their bikes, wagons, scooters with provided supplies. The ride and walk 3 blocks total (through the main roads in Haslet where there is a library, (which just got computers to check out books this year...they've been hand-writing what we check out for the past 3 years), the Feed Store, Mr. Jim's Pizza and two churches.
After the parade, local businesses and churches set up bounce houses, free pizza, hot dogs, waters, and the firetrucks hosed the kids (and sweaty adults) down. It was awesome!
The Northwest Optimist Club comes and puts the flag in our yard 6 times a year for a small fee. We feel so patriotic! I love to see it waving out the front window.
God bless America!

The boy scouts put up a flag in our yard every holiday . . . I LOVE IT! It sounds like you guys are doing well - I found you through Rachel and really enjoyed catching up on your family. Feel free to do the same with ours!
This is a great country. I love seeing the flag too and what it represents.
