Happy Fourth, U.S.A.!

Family Celebrations at the Fort Worth Science Museum

We made festive hats...

and bow-ties

Dug at the Dino Dig (Nick's favorite part)

Made tall towers
Giving the guns!

Then we made it over to the Haslet City Park and Parade
it's our sixth year of marching or biking in this parade and we love it!

Nick's cubmaster (moi) signed our pack up to be on a float in the parade. It wasn't fancy but the boys loved throwing candy to all the by-standers and shouting "Cub Scout Power!" every so often.

We found out when we arrived at the park that our pack was doing the Flag Ceremony prior to the fireworks! wow! We got practicing and the boys did a great job!! It is more patriotic and there is a unique spirit to participating in a flag ceremony and reciting the pledge on the Fourth of July!
(although in the Bible Belt, we did all of this on the 3rd since the 4th fell on a Sunday; the Mormons were happy about that, too!)

Nick is on the right carrying the Texas state flag
Fireworks with rousing orchestral music and some other classic USA tunes ended our night, amongst a bunch of friends from our church out on the lawn at the ball park. It was cloudy and rainy all week so the weather was the best we've had yet! not hot, nor muggy! how lovely! We have a great little community!
