HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK!!
enjoying favorite ice cream place, Braum's, with school buddies, on the night of his birthday!
Here is Nick's 4th grade class. He loves his teacher and has a great time learning and using words like "stupendous" which his Language Arts teacher LOVES!
You can bring in a "treat" for birthdays; since my mom always made homemade stuff, including frosting, we don't buy cakes/muffins/cookies. ever. A few years ago I was inspired by Jessica Seinfeld's cookbook which takes pureed veggies/fruits and adds them to everything. I used a whole wheat zucchini recipe, added pureed bananas, brown sugar and agave nectar (instead of white sugar), some cinnamon & nutmeg and brought these in. Can i admit they were a bigger hit than cupcakes would have been?? Soooo tasty!! So sweet and the kids loved loved loved them. I just typed up the recipe to send the teacher and she is going to forward it on the parents who are interested. Love to bring "healthy treats" to school, even for birthdays!
Here is Nick giving a short presentation to the class; they all read a book and then kids came up with the multiple choice "test questions" about the book. Great idea!
This was our "set up" (Maddie coined that phrase as a 3 year old planning and decorating the house for parties--for our 'invisible' guests!) for Nick's birthday party (held recently). A football/sports' theme:
We had tons of games out in the backyard. Water relays, football, giant pillow-puzzle-pieces fighting, etc.
Tonight, we are taking about 4 of his best school buddies to our favorite ice cream place for sundaes. :) Yeah!! We LOVE you Nick!!!!
