Welcome to Ted's parents!!!!!
We are SO HAPPY they came to see us, our new house (1 yr old), and hang out with us.
We ate out, ate here and played lots of chess, cards and billiards/mini pool table.
It was so fun!!!
We enjoyed our backyard as a dining area and game room for the first time since moving in. The weather was divine and we had a great time hanging out, playing chess, throwing balls to Boston (our dog) and just chatting. We love our new backyard which does NOT get the afternoon/evening sun (like our old house). We just need to get some real patio furniture for it one of these days.
Trip to Fort Worth's Sundance Square, an Western Art Museum (Sid Richardson Museum) where Ma and Pa saw works by their favorite western artist, Mr. Russell.
Fort Worth, Sundance Square mural of the riders that blazed the Chisholm Trail
At home:
Nick and Pa's pasttime when they are together :) love it!!
Yardsales are Ma Buck's favorite pasttime; we looked up some and spent about 3 hours searching for "treasures" and here a small sampling of what our family came home with:
(didn't buy the Star Wars dude, just took a photo!)
Nick wanted new blades for his birthday; I didn't want to spend $75 so we found one pair today, exactly his size!! $FIVE$
My mom ironed so much for us over Thanksgiving break, that my old iron died--and I found another for a few bucks. with how little anyone around here irons, this should do the trick!! ;)
crazy 70s Roller Babe shirt that is the essence of my younger years :)
Maddie got several T-shirts, including one of Kermit the Frog, a tye dye one, and this one, to which she (nor we) have any connection; but that's her latest in style: T-shirts with logos, etc. of anyplace...
Eating after a morning of yard sales at Nick and Pa Buck's favorite place: Genghis Grill
and we celebrated Ma and Pa's birthday (March 25th and April 15th) with some savory tomato-basil turkey burgers (or salmon burgers), black bean cilantro dip/salsa/chips and then some seriously addicting lemon bars that have a bit of lime in them and a thick buttery crust on the bottom.
No photos as we ate them so quickly!!!
But these are the gorgeous prints we gave them of their four generations; something I knew they would love and Ma and I spend lots of time talking about our family history and Pa and I have mapped all his out a couple of times. I love it!!
I can't upload Ma and Pa's (and I didn't take a photo), but they look a lot like Maddie and Nick's below:
(although Pa's has a gray background, with white letters
and Ma's has a white background with black to gray letters)
Thanks to my brother, Mike, for designing these!!
Mike will have a website up and running soon to take orders and create these in most colors, with dark or light backgrounds very soon!!! Yea, Mike!! We are loving these so much!!!
