Dance Fever!

Winter and Spring the "drill team" stuff is over and the DANCE TEAM routines begin. The girls start competing with teams across the country. This was my favorite part of Maddie's year on Sidekicks (and hers!)

This dance was done to Billy Idol's "White Wedding" and they carried rose bouquets and had huge fake diamond rings on their white-gloved hands.

The category for this dance is called "Military" and it's all about precision, straight lines, being exact.

This next dance was their Kick Routine.

Song for it is called "Burlesque"

and it had TONS of high kicks and a kick line.

What was especially fun for Maddie, was the chance to be a Freshman Rookie (new to team) along with her good friend from our ward, Kennedy. She is dancing just to the right of Maddie in many numbers (above & below). They had a great time together!

The next one was their JAZZ number

The "charleston-esque" outfit was so cute!

And last and my least favorite, just because it was such a wild outfit (ratted hair on Maddie becomes HUGE and take H O U R S to comb out--and that was part of their "jungle" outfit) to go with the Guns-n-Roses song, "Welcome to the Jungle"-- this was their POM ROUTINE.

So you can see now what we spent January, February, and March doing: attending these ALL day ALL night (til 11pm) competitions. Maddie rehearsed TONS and she loved every minute of it. She has one more big show which is at our high school in May, where they will do these dances, plus more they have been learning with their squads. **Moms get to do a blast of a dance to a fast country version of "Footloose" which includes some jazz, country-line-dancing and some sweet moves. I am totally EXCITED! I loooooove to dance!
