Shout out to Hilarious and True stories

I can't not mention the blog entry from a friend I met in Israel in 1988. She was the most confident, interesting, unique chick on the trip (in my opinion) and I'll always remember many things about her, including her nails that seemed to be over 1 inch long. no joke. She married another BYU friend and they have traveled, studied, and taught all over the world. Now they reside just outside of Boston. This friend is the author of so many hilarious songs; her versions of the Brady Bunch had us crying as we laughed: the Hansen bunch (Mormon family who met I think fruit picking at the church farm and "the holy ghost gave them a lit'le hunch, that soon they would start an eternal family, and that's the way they all became the Hansen Bunch..." chorus-, then she had the Mexican family from L.A (where she's from) and an African-American family bunch, both of which i most tragically, can't recall. She is still writing songs for church gatherings (some of her latest Relief Society ladies' get-togethers are on her blog) and still cracking me up! Here is the entry about Sacrament meetings that I wish I could have been in: http://mamaheather.blogspot.com/2009/10/how-embarrassing.html She is reminiscing about embarrassing experiences in Sacrament meeting (which she points out is the LDS members' most spiritual meeting; thus, it holds true, can be home of the most difficult moments for small children who are present). I was crying, literally, I was cracking up, cackling, to be honest, as I read her experiences. If I don't record them here, I'll feel like you are all missing out on years of life (as laughing is supposed to make us younger). Last shout out to Heather: she is an amazing writer, who choses words and descriptions so powerful, to perfect that I could spend days reading everything she's ever written. She has taught English both at BYU and Harvard and China, so she is sharing her gift far and wide. There is no doubt that you will find humor in the squirrel dinner that her husband provided one night, the lice episodes that only others who have been through can thoroughly appreciate, the kids' stuff (lots of it), and the burial ceremony for a beloved hamster (or was it gerbil)... I need to scan a few photos of us from BYU's Israel Study Abroad, especially the one of us with the incredibly handsome rabbi who came to administer and lead the Passover Feast we had. I know we were both drooling over this man. embarrassing. true. i won't share the more embarrassing things that happened there; let's hope those photos are long destroyed!
