My "station" the Space Kitchen Station made Oobleck (this stuff is fun, not sticky, but a solid that turns to liquid when you touch it: 1 c. cornstarch and approx. 3/4 c. water) from Dr. Suess' Bartholomew and the Oobleck. Then we made slime, which was gross! Then the boys got to dip marshmallows in different kinds of chocolate and roll them in "moon dust" or "crater sprinkles" (see photo above): Martian Pops
Maddie came as "Junior Staffer" for two days (nice volunteer hours!) and was SO MUCH FUN with the boys! She helped me at my station and when we finished our activities, she played this game with them all.
Here she is comforting a young lad who got hurt in Ultimate Frisbee (feelings hurt I think). So cute!!
Maddie LOVED working at the Martian Pops station (and sampling lots of them!)
The firestation came and literally hosed off all of us! See Maddie below:
Ted was over ALL the Junior Staffers and rode around all week (from 1-9pm) like this checking up on his peeps (about 36 of them). It was awesome! he bought a helmet for the event and he fixed his flat tire as well as Nick and Maddie's flat tires on their bikes. What a great project!!
For the love of water!!
See the stream from the fire chief?
Nick and his buddies (Mason, Willie and Ryan) are so excited to become Jr Staffers when they are too old to attend Cub Camp. They wanted to help each day, set up all the stations (25 stations) and to clean up at night. Here they are: the Jr Junior Staffers.
Way to go, boys!!!
You ROCK!
