Look at those bowls of goodies. This has got to be one of the most fun traditions!!! We eat the candy and decorate and imagine how exciting it would be to live in a gingerbread house!
Maddie has some snazzy style! I love her color scheme and organized little rows of candies...
Here is Nick's finished house. He used round candies for wreaths and the kit even came with a little tree that he let me decorate; i loved it. I have always loved coloring (even still) and love to decorate cookies and cupcakes and my house, my real house, too.
Nick loved his patterned front walkway to his house, as well as (below) his gumdrop border around the sides of the house.A few days before we made these at home, Nick made them with his class (and all six 4th grade classes) on the last day of school.
I came here straight my getaway with Ted (from Dallas), from the Dallas Museum of Art. What a whirlwind of a day and a night...and the next day...and so on. The action never stops!!
Here he is with the kids at his table. We have known most of them since Kindergarten, which is so fun! I moved so often as a kid, that I didn't have the same set of friends until high school, where I was for all four years. So I love that my kids are growing up with the same kids; we get to see them grow (Ted and I) and we enjoy that and being part of our kids' friends lives as they intertwine with Maddie's and Nick's years in school, sports, church, etc.
