45 minutes at 30-35 miles per hour on this contraption (what is it called?) and the kids were not ready to quit! They were laughing and flying over the bumps our skilled driver made by going in circles over the wake. We thought the kids were going to fly off several times, but they hung on for dear life -- and loved every minute of it.
Nick, happy as a clam after riding on a big 3-person intertube for 45 minutes, being tossed left and right by driver Alex who responded to Nick and Maddie's cries of "faster, faster!" with just that.

Then I got to go in for some skiing. It has been over 15 years I think (?) since I last skiied, and I knew I would be super sore the next few days--which I was. But it was worth it! Waterskiing is my favorite sport, besides dancing, if that is a sport!
40 years old and can still ski pretty good. For a choppy lake, I still got in and out of the wake 4 or 5 times, though the speed (as our talented driver turned the boat so I'd go flying) almost took me down. I was laughing the whole time, the kind of laughter that is sheer happiness.
A grand THANK YOU to the Powell and Malone families for inviting us to share in that with them. We had an absolute blast!!
