Trustee Award for Nick & D.I. Team

 Here goes Nick to get his medal from Mark Schluter, NISD Board of Education President & Trustee Head Honcho :)

Students who take 1st place in a variety of areas: lots related to farming (as we are in a rural community), Engineering, Destination Imagination, Battle of Books, Spelling Bee, Sports, etc, are all invited to the Board of Trustees Awards night. The audience was told that these were the highest awards given in the district! Yea!!

 Here is most of my Destination Imagination team, all 5th graders are Sendera Ranch Elementary.

When Nick's 2nd grade D.I. team received the DaVinci Award, they were honored by the Board of Education and Superintendent and invited to participate in the Pledge of Allegiance at the Monthly Board Meeting. Here is his team getting ready to lead the pledge:

and lastly, when Maddie was in 6th grade, she took 1st place in the UIL (University Interscholastic League) "Oral Reading" Category, which was reading/reciting a poem with amazing energy and insight :)  Her specialty! She competed against lots of kids from various districts and schools. Here is a photo of her that year performing in one of several plays she did:

It has been so much fun, so enjoyable, and so surprising to see our kids pursue talents, to show confidence, and to do well. We have LOVED it!!!!
